Summary

This is the story of Charles, a child of divorce who is always forced to choose between his mother and his father。 He grows into a man and starts a family of his own。 But one fateful weekend, he leaves his mother to secretly be with his father - and she dies while he is gone。 This haunts him for years。 It unravels his own young family。 It leads him to depression and drunkenness。 One night, he decides to take his life。 But somewhere between this world and the next, he encounters his mother again, in their hometown, and gets to spend one last day with her - the day he missed and always wished he'd had。 He asks the questions many of us yearn to ask, the questions we never ask while our parents are alive。 By the end of this magical day, Charley discovers how little he really knew about his mother, the secret of how her love saved their family, and how deeply he wants the second chance to save his own。

For One More Day is the story of a mother and a son, and a relationship that covers a lifetime and beyond。 It explores the question: What would you do if you could spend one more day with a lost loved one?

How is it that some people just write better and better? Never disappointed by Mitch Albom's books。。。。Reading this sitting on a sick bed hits too hard。 We often take people for granted when they are around us and once they are gone the guilt and what ifs? Start haunting us。 What if you get a a chance to meet someone you lost for one more day???? Brilliant story !! How is it that some people just write better and better? It’s a love story - mother & son’s love story, the purest kind there is。 This book made me tear up a bit。 It left me thinking about life and everything that mattered。

I really enjoyed the story line of this book, it follows the story of a man who tries to take his own life and in the process of doing that he ends up at his old home where he runs into his mother who has been dead for years。 From there it takes you on a journey where you will find out why it is that he’s able to be with his dead mother again and shows you the different point of views of the main characters。 Definitely an interesting quick read if you’re interest in near death experiences, I wou I really enjoyed the story line of this book, it follows the story of a man who tries to take his own life and in the process of doing that he ends up at his old home where he runs into his mother who has been dead for years。 From there it takes you on a journey where you will find out why it is that he’s able to be with his dead mother again and shows you the different point of views of the main characters。 Definitely an interesting quick read if you’re interest in near death experiences, I would totally recommend this book。 。。。more

Making amendsi read this book on mother’s day and few days after my mother passed away due to COVID。 Reading the book reminded me many things about my own relationship with my mother。 Like any relationship, children have their own ups and downs with their parents and i guess that it is human nature。 Emotion is field of energy, that is why it is probably called “energy in motion” and like any field of energy, it travels in waves with its highs and lows。 Sometime we are too critical of parents wit Making amendsi read this book on mother’s day and few days after my mother passed away due to COVID。 Reading the book reminded me many things about my own relationship with my mother。 Like any relationship, children have their own ups and downs with their parents and i guess that it is human nature。 Emotion is field of energy, that is why it is probably called “energy in motion” and like any field of energy, it travels in waves with its highs and lows。 Sometime we are too critical of parents without realising that they acted as per their own field of vision and we are not being fare when we are making judgement as per own field of vision。 One way of appreciating parents is just accepting them as they are because that is only way their ghosts will come to sit with us on the table when we will welcome them as they are。 。。。more

It was difficult to read simply because it made me so emotional。 I lost my mom to a heart disease in 2015 and since then I have always hoped that I could have that one day to spend with her where I could spend time with her, lie in her lap and get more love from her。 But I am sure that day can only be imagined as beautifully as Mitch Albom imagines it in this novel。

Buku ini sangat heartwarming!HangatSangat hangatBagaimana rasanya kau dapat menghabiskan satu hari saja dengan orang yang kau kasihi? I’ve read this book twice now。 I know not all of us had the experience to grow up with two, maybe not even one, caring and loving parent。。。 This book helped me acknowledge what are some things I’ve taken for granted。 I had the privilege of growing up with both parents - not always perfect, but definitely showed me love and compassion, and I’ve definitely overlooked that growing up。 Specifically with my mom。 After reading this, I feel the need to give my mom a hug and appreciate her life as I sti I’ve read this book twice now。 I know not all of us had the experience to grow up with two, maybe not even one, caring and loving parent。。。 This book helped me acknowledge what are some things I’ve taken for granted。 I had the privilege of growing up with both parents - not always perfect, but definitely showed me love and compassion, and I’ve definitely overlooked that growing up。 Specifically with my mom。 After reading this, I feel the need to give my mom a hug and appreciate her life as I still have her here。 I hope I continue to embrace that until she - and my dad pass。 。。。more
